Considering an Annuity

Potential for Growth and Protection

The responsibility for retirement savings has increasingly shifted from employers to individuals. As you create your financial strategy for retirement, you’ll want to explore ways of protecting your hard-earned nest egg. You may also explore ways to potentially grow your investments, too.

What is an Annuity?

An annuity is a long-term, tax-deferred vehicle designed for retirement. Variable annuities involve investment risks and may lose value. Earnings are taxable as ordinary income when distributed and may be subject to a 10% additional tax if withdrawn before age 59½.

Income Protection

Having reliable income in retirement is an important part of being able to enjoy the retirement you want. A Jackson annuity with add-on benefit* can provide predictable income in the form of a Lifetime Check^.

Growth Potential

Variable annuities can provide opportunities to grow your assets through a variety of investment options available within the annuity.

Growth Potential from Tax Deferral§

Most annuities defer your taxes on your earnings until you take payments, which means that your potential growth can be reinvested and compound over time.

Legacy Benefits

If leaving money to your loved ones or a cause you care about is important to you, an annuity can help you with your goal.

Jackson Annuities

Tax deferral and protected lifetime income are just a few of the benefits that annuities can provide.

*Add-on benefits that provide income for the length of a designated life and/or lives may be available for additional charge. The amount of income that these benefits may provide can vary depending on age, when income is taken, and how many lives are covered when the benefit is elected. Certain state variations may also apply. The cost of these benefits may negatively impact the contracts cash value.

^Lifetime income of the add-on lifetime benefits available with variable annuities becomes effective at issue if the designated life is age 59½ at issue, or upon the contract anniversary following designated life's 59½ birthday, provided the contract value is greater than zero and has not been annuitized.

§Tax deferral offers no additional value if an annuity is used to fund a qualified plan, such as a 401(k) or IRA, and may be found at a lower cost in other investment products. It also may not be available if the annuity is owned by a legal entity such as a corporation or certain types of trusts.

Before investing, investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses of the variable annuity and its underlying investment options. The current contract prospectus and underlying fund prospectuses, which are contained in the same document, provide this and other important information. Please contact your financial professional or the Company to obtain the prospectuses. Please read the prospectuses carefully before investing or sending money.
