In times of uncertainty and market volatility, it is critical to stay connected and to work together to keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe and healthy. Jackson is dedicated to providing you and your family with education and information designed to help protect your future. While these are challenging and uncertain times, Jackson is committed to providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining the health and safety of our associates, business partners, and communities.
In response to cities and states across the country that have enacted shelter-in-place and other orders resulting from the current crisis, Jackson’s Business Continuity Team quickly enacted procedures to enable our associates to work remotely—from the safety of their homes using a variety technologies. As a result, our customer service, sales and all other critical business functions remain fully operational and are ready to provide the same excellent service our customers and business partners have come to expect from Jackson. Our Business Continuity Team, comprised of senior leaders from across the organization, continues to actively monitor the situation and has measures in place that ensure the safety of our associates, providing uninterrupted service to our customers and monitoring scenarios that could have potential impacts to our business. Jackson continues to monitor and take appropriate action to comply with changing state regulations that provide for extended grace periods or consideration of applicable benefits. For those with policies issued in the state of NY or NJ, please review additional details surrounding the guidelines issued in your states.
The long-term impacts of COVID-19 on America’s economy are unknown. At Jackson, we believe that our financial strength gives us the solid foundation necessary to weather uncertainty and to continue to deliver on our promise to our customers.
Jackson’s Corporate Philanthropy efforts focus on supporting our local communities in times of need. This spring, $500,000 was awarded in community grants with priority given to issues associated with COVID-19 such as basic needs, including: access to food, emergency housing and rent/bill payment assistance. Jackson continues to amplify associate donations with a 2:1 corporate match to eligible nonprofits, while providing information about nonprofits in need of support and opportunities to volunteer virtually from home. Additionally, since April, Jackson wholesalers have been conducting "Zoom for Food" webinars where, for each advisor in attendance, a donation is made to the Feeding America Food Bank in the advisor’s local community. To date, donations totaling $214,480 have been made to 106 different food banks across the country, with plans to support dozens more. Every dollar donated to a Feeding America Food Bank helps secure and distribute 10 meals to people facing hunger.
